My logname comes from the Arthur C. Clarke novel 2001: A Space Odyssey (novel).
I always fancied the quote of the Dr. R. Chandra character from the sequel, "2010":
Whether we are based on carbon or silicon makes no fundamental difference; we should each be treated with appropriate respect.
