Real de Catorce

The town of Real de Catorce is located in the desert of the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí, at high altitude of 2,750m, in the Catorce mountain range.
Real de Catorce was founded in the year 1639 as a mining town. Nowadays (after having been considered for some time a ghost town) it'a main income comes from tourism. The movie "Bandidas" (featuring Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz) was filmed in Real del Catorce.
