Refusenik (Muslim)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Muslim refusenik is a term coined and proudly adopted by Irshad Manji, a controversial Canadian Muslim writer, to characterize all independent-minded, liberal, anti-fundamentalist Muslims.[1]
The term refusenik is an English-Russian portmanteau word first used for Russian Jews prevented from immigrating to Israel and then for Israelis who refused to do army service on the West Bank.
