[edit] Usage
This template is intended to be placed at the top of articles which are lacking reliable references, and therefore need improvement regarding their referencing.
This template also includes support for using the date parameter. Adding this parameter sorts the article into subcategories of Category:Articles lacking reliable references and out of the parent category, allowing the oldest problems to be identified and dealt with first.
Listed below are the two options for usage.
{{refimprove}}
{{refimprove|March 2007}}
[edit] Advantages
[edit] General advantages
- The naming scheme of Refimprove parallels that used for {{Refbegin}}, {{Refend}}, and {{Reflist}}, thereby reducing confusion in compliance with the KISS principle.
- Refimprove is easy to use.
[edit] Advantages over {{Primarysources}} and {{Unreferenced}}
- Refimprove uses simple, general wording so that the template can be used at any time referencing in an article needs improvement.
- Refimprove is only used on articles, not sections. This way the user need not type date= for the date to differentiate between the date parameter and a parameter for the section name.
[edit] Advantages over {{fact}}
- Refimprove works for general and specific references whereas {{fact}} can only be used in place of specific references.
- Unlike {{fact}}, Refimprove places a very conspicuous banner at the top of the article.
