Talk:Registered nurse
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I think that this should be merged with Nurse Matt 16:32, 11 Jul 2004 (UTC)
This article refers exclusively to the U.S. . A more global perspective is required . All nurses in the U.K. on qualification take the title Registered Nurse. Can some information be added referring to role of the R.N. in the U.K. , and other parts of the world where the title exists.

[edit] Becoming an RN
If you do a good search in a search engine you will find nursing schools that will tell you what the entrance requirements are. I am from the UK so I don't have a clue about the American system. Panthro 11:12, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Capitalisation.
Shouldn't the title registered nurse be in lower case? See District nurse, Health visitor. Panthro 15:13, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
--Yes it should. The capitalisation rules can be found here, and state that the capitalised title chould be used when adressing a specific person, or to the profession as a whole. It should also be caps when used in a signature line..For example....."Nurse Marcum, Please prepare to defibilate the patient" Or as in "L. Marcum, Registered Nurse". Most other situations require it to be treated as a regular noun.
Hope this helps.

Bit late, as I changed it to Registered nurse a while ago, but thanks anyway. Panthro 22:04, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
