[edit] Music
Rehab's music is a mixture of southern rock, dirty south rap, reggae, alternative and the popular 90s rap/rock style (made famous by bands such as Limp Bizkit). Three pressed albums have been released: "To Whom It May Consume" (1999), "Southern Discomfort" (2000), and "Graffiti the World" (2005). "Cuz We Can" (2002), previously obtainable only online, became available on CD in the early months of 2007. Following the release, Rehab had this to say, "Although this may not have been officially what the label intended to put out, it’s the best work we could find and put together as a comprehensive volume to give to the fans."
[edit] Early years
Rehab was originally formed as a trio: Denny Campbell AKA Steaknife, Danny Alexander, and Brooks Buford. Early on, they released their first album "To Whom It May Consume" produced by Steaknife. Soon after, Epic/Sony offered a record deal from a demo Steaknife and Danny Boone wrote without Brooks Buford. Even though Steaknife originated the group "Rehab", Danny and Brooks (with Brooks acting as if he was Steaknife on the demo) left Steaknife behind after getting the record deal because steaknife had been arrested for a short period of time.
Rehab's major label debut, Southern Discomfort, hit stores in October of 2000. With band members Danny Alexander and Brooks, hailing from the city of Warner Robins, south of Atlanta, Georgia. Their debut album starts with a skit of them breaking out of a rehabilitation facility. The album went on to sell over 140,000 units, and produce such hits as "Sittin' At A Bar", "It Don't Matter", and "Rattle My Cage", and feature such guests as Cee-Lo, Goodie Mob, Steaknife, and Cody Chestnutt.
After 2 years on the road supporting the Vans Warped Tour and playing with bands such as Linkin Park, the band called it quits over different creative view points and Brooks Buford himself was following the same path that led the two to initially meet in the first place; a road that would lead Brooks back into rehabilitation. Soon, they were dropped from their label and Brooks later released their unreleased, finished album, CuzWeCan produced by steaknife, on the internet.
[edit] Rebirth
In August of 2005 Rehab re-emerged with a new album "Graffiti the World". The new Rehab was brought together by original band member Danny Alexander. Joining him were longtime musicians Mike Hartnett, Hano Leathers, Chris Hood, and Foz. An additional and unofficial member of the group, though, by the name of Demun Jones often steps in to perform the raps that Brooks once sang. The six put together new tracks and re-worked old classics.
Graffiti the World features the hits "Wht Do U Wnt Frm Me", "Graffiti The World", and "This Town". Rehab is currently on tour in the USA promoting the album on the "Lack of Luxury" tour which ends in March in their home state of Georgia.
