Rehan (plant)

Rehan as a name means: Rehan is an Arabic word, meaning "fragrant one". It is used in the Qur'an in the Sura Ar-Rahman (the "scented herb" in Ayah no 12)and Sura Al-Waqiah (Ayah no 89). It may also be spelled as Rayhan.
- Abu Rehan Al Bairuni (Burhan-ul-Haq Muhammad) was One of the most prominent Muslim Mathematician of the tenth century, who travelled from central asia to learn from KATAAS University (centuries old Hindu temple located deep in the Potohar hill ranges. It is also said that he did complete most of his intellectual work in KATAAS.
- Variation of name Rehan are also found in Ireland as O Raigan in waterford, the Gaelic form O'Reagain is also used. It is also the name of a family in Ireland with different variations in spellings.
Rehan is also a place in Himachal, India.

- Artemisia rehan, a perennial odoriferous herb from the Artemisia, endemic in Ethiopia and sought after for the essential oil obtained from it.
- Holy Basil, also known as raihan, reihan, reyhan, or by various other spellings. The leaves are used as a culinary herb, raw or cooked; the seeds are also used as a thickening agent.
