Please clarify source material related to the charges and sentencing of Tijerina. According to Gonzales, Manuel G. 1999. Mexicanos: a History of Mexicans in the United States.Indiana University Press. as well as Acuna, Rodolfo. 1981. Occupied America: A History of Chicanos. Harper and Row Publishers, Tijerina was incarcerated in 1969 for charges related to the 1967 Kit Carson Forest occupation as well as a 1969 attempt to occupy the same location. He served concurrent sentences for charges related to these incidents and was release in 1971. -- 71.76.225.128 02:03, 30 December 2006 (UTC) Dr. Stephen J.
