Renee is a fictional character in Joss Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight comic book series.

Even though Renee does not appear and is not referenced at all throughout the television series version of Buffy, she does make her first appearance in the first issue of Whedon's comic book continuation of the series in an arc titled The Long Way Home, implying that she is a character that comes into contact with and is integrated into Buffy's team some time after the television show's series finale.

Later in the second issue of the series, Renee is seen keeping watch on top of the citadel in which the Slayers currently occupy, implying that she may actually, in fact, also be one of the newly activated Slayers.

In the first installment of The Long Way Home, Renee appears to be a member of Buffy and Xander's team guiding Buffy and the other Slayers through their missions, reporting on any new issues or complications that may arise. Through this, it is assumed that she could be considered an operations or tactical agent for the group, though it is also possible that she is considered or at least has enough remote training to be considered a Watcher to one of the several hundred newly activated Slayers.

Renee is later seen keeping watching with one of the Slayers during the beginning of Amy's zombie siege of Slayer Command. Whether or not she has survived the attack remains to be seen.

It has not yet been seen whether or not Renee retains any supernatural or extraordinary powers or abilities and appears to be a normal human being. However, she is a noteworthy addition to the Slayer gang due to her proficiency with technology within the Slayer Command Center in Scotland.

Xander Harris - Xander and Renee seem to share a brief flirtation throughout the first issue of The Long Way Home. Later in the second issue, one of the newer Slayers also mentions to Renee that she seems to have picked up some very unusual interests since first meeting Xander, alluding to the fact that the reader is not the only one suspicious of the blooming relationship.
