Renee Humphrey (born January 27, 1975 in San Mateo, California) is an American actress that has appeared in both film and television.
[edit] Biography
Renee Humphrey has been working in film and television for the last fourteen years (behind the camera for the past five) and is now co-founder of Titan Motion Picture Group. Her work began in the theater in the San Francisco Bay Area at age six. At age sixteen, she moved to Los Angeles on her own and found tremendous good fortune. Years of hard work began to pay off as she was continuously hired as an actress for film and television. Her role of Hillary in the indie film "Fun" landed her the Outstanding Performance Award at the 1994 Sundance Film Festival.
Renee fell in love with acting as a child while playing the role of Gretl in The Sound of Music. For the next nine years she did the Bay Area community theater circuit as well as some professional work in television commercials and an experimental radio drama with Francis Ford Coppola at Zoetrope Studios. She balanced her adolescence with school- part time work at the mall and as a waitress- acting- dance- and acting classes. It was so exhausting that at one point she went to visit her brother, who was going to school in Paris at the time, and slept for eighteen hours straight. He was a bit concerned until he discovered she had only been sleeping four to five hours a night for the past year, and was not getting her much needed fifteen year-old "growing sleep". Once in Los Angeles, she dropped out of school (with a GED) and focused solely on acting classes, auditions and quitting her waitressing job.
As she began to work more it became clear that Renee was interested in production as a whole, so she started working with writers developing screenplays. Today Titan Motion Picture Group is currently in pre-production of their second feature entitled “Blight”. She previously co-produced/directed the animated children’s health show “Animal Yoga for Kids,” which is being nationally distributed and running on PBS.
