The Repeatos are a 21st Century Whole World Soul Band formed in 1995 in New York. The band is an improvisational ensemble with a penchant for combining acoustic and electronic elements and seamlessly flowing between musical traditions from ancient to future.
Having performed primarily in New York in avant garde jazz clubs like Tonic and in the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade, the Repeatos have gained a reputation as a unique entertainment experience that makes use of the energy of the moment to compose original and spontaneous danceable world music.
The Repeatos have one of the highest instrument to musician ratios in the industry typically employing more than 100 different instruments during a performance. Just as the Repeatos' music comes from all over the world, so too do the band members. Living in New York, North Carolina, Providence, England, and Ireland, the band convenes 2 or 3 times per year for brief tours and studio sessions. In between get-togethers the band develops live-studio hybrid creations using remote audio collaboration technology.
