Ferdiaob (talk • contribs) - I'm an extremely regular user of Wikipedia, and regularly patrol the pages on my watchlist for vandalism. I'm really interested in gaining access to the sysop tools to assist in my reverting etc. I also spend a lot of time creating Archive pages to help format Wikipedia. I am no stranger to the talk pages, and have no issue discussing the aspects that I perceive to be vandalism before I make the edit. As you can deduce from this paragraph I am extremely opposed to Vandalism, and hunt down repeat offenders often, using the history pages etc, going on to report these users to the current Admins. If I am granted access to the sysop tools, I will redouble my efforts to build Wikipedia’s referential integrity. Ferdia O'Brien (The Archiver & Vandal Watchman) 22:54, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

- Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia in this capacity. Please take the time to answer a few generic questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with? Please check out Category:Administrative backlog, and read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.
- A: I hunt out vandals every day, I refresh and examine every single edit on my watchlist (of a considerable number of articles) at least once every few hours, I would dearly love to make this task easier using the sysop tools, and if I am granted access to them by the peers, I will not waste the opportunity.
- 2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- A: There isn’t any I am particularly pleased with, mainly because I tend to put my best effort into anything I do, and as the old story goes, "all you can do is your best"
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: In the so called editing wars that can occur in Wikipedia articles, I tend to just nip them in the bud early, buy allowing the other editor to have his edit on the page, while I prove my point in the corresponding Talk page.
- General comments
