Seb4455 (talk • contribs) – A great asset to the wikipedia community, please accept this request. Seb4455 20:34, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- I think that being wikipedia administrator would help me better the wikipedia community in a way that i could not, otherwise. I would like to make it clear that although this account is relatively new, I had been making edits anonymously for a long time, before I created an account. Only now do i somewhat ironically realize how I had inhibited myself by not creating an account sooner.
- Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia in this capacity. Please take the time to answer a few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:
- 1. What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with? Please check out Category:Wikipedia backlog and Category:Administrative backlog, and read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.
- A:I've decided to self-nominate because I doubt that I would be nominated by others, since I tend to be pretty low key. I always read the featured articles, and the pump. As an admin, I can definitely see myself keeping constant tabs on speedy delete, and on the backlog. Putting a big dent in the backlog is something that I would really take pride in doing, it's the kind of work that I would really enjoy. I probably have over 2500 edits, which started in early 2005, once i figured out how everything works. Now, though, I edit at a much higher rate, almost constantly.
- 2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- A:Nothing specifically sticks out to me, but I proudly make updates on the pages that relate to military history of the United States, the US Army, the US Marine Corps, The NATO rank system, the M1, M14, and the M16 rifles, the Colt M1911 Pistol, and things of the nature of those.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A:I have not really been in any conflicts or edit wars, the mistakes that I tend to correct are generally those which are of a more mundane nature, things that are honest mistakes rather than that which is subjective. As an Admin, were i to be in a conflict, I would act cooly and appropriately.
- General comments
- Great guy, seen his changes, I'm sure he'd make a great admin.
- Know this guy in person, he is the type of guy to sit and just edit for hours.
