Richard Arkwright Austin (b. 5 September 1954) played only two Tests and one one-day international for the West Indies.
He played most of his cricket for the West Indies un-officially. He played as an opener and substitute wicketkeeper for the World Series Cricket West Indian team between 1977 and 1979. He then joined the West Indies team that toured South Africa during apartheid between 1982 and 1984.
Austin suffered when he returned back to the Caribbean as the players who went on the "Rebel tours" were seen as traitors by the West Indian public. He was banned from all cricket for life in Jamaica. His life took a downward spiral due to drink and drugs and he is living as a destitute in Kingston.
