Richard Côté

Richard Côté is a Quebec municipal politician in Gatineau, Quebec. He is the councillor of the Bellevue district in the Gatineau sector.
Côté studied at the University of Ottawa and received a certificate in marketing and management before working for over 30 years at the Bowater plant in Gatineau.
Côté is currently the longest serving councillor among active councillors at Gatineau's City Council. He entered politics in the former city of Gatineau's council in 1987 and was re-elected five other mandates including the last one by acclamation in the 2005 municipal elections. He was also a candidate for the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada in 1993 but lost.
Among his priorities includes improving public traffic safety, improve roadways, extended main routes, reduce traffic on local streets and maintenance.
In addition to his professional and political career, Cote has been heavily involved in several local sporting and leisure events across the city.
