Richard Harvey[1] is an Australian surgeon and researcher. He was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1973. After training at the University of New South Wales, he completed a period of research at Oxford University as a Nuffield Fellow. On returning to Australia, he trained in general surgery and then otolaryngology/head & neck surgery. Currently, he is completing fellowships in Rhinology at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital in London then at the Medical University of Southern Carolina. He is also associate academic staff with the University of New South Wales and continuing research into rhinologic disease. Research programs cover: assessment of outcome in chronic rhinosinusitis and endoscopic sinus surgery, the role of biofilms in chronic sinusitis, macrolide therapy for chronic sinusitis and the link between rhinitis and asthma.
