Richard Ho

Richard Ho Man-wui (Chinese: 何文滙) (born 1946), JP, is a Chinese scholar from Hong Kong. After graduating from the University of Hong Kong, he obtained his PhD from the University of London. He taught for a while in the University of Wisconsin in the US, but returned to Hong Kong in 1976, working for the local television channels. From 1979 onwards, he began to teach Chinese language and literature at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Currently he is the president of the university.
He is the key campaigner for the proper pronunciation of Cantonese, publishing related books and hosting related TV shows.
He is the ex-husband of the Hong Kong novelist and businesswoman Leung Fung-yee (梁鳳儀).
