Robb Spewak

Robb Spewak is the "third man" on the nationally syndicated American radio program The Don and Mike Show, having been a writer, producer, and frequent on-air contributor for more than a decade. Spewak started out as a caller to the Don and Mike Show, often calling in as Jimmy Stewart during the Christmas holidays. While a college student at Virginia Commonwealth University, Spewak became an intern on the show and took ritual abuse. He once spent weekends working as a radio deejay ("D-double-E J-A-Y") at one of Don and Mike's FM affiliates, WIMX-FM in Harrisburg, PA in 1994-1995. His ultimate nickname came from a stunt he pulled in his early years on the show; while wearing a 52DD bra, Spewak stood on one of the local DC bridges yelling, "Look at may, I'm Rob-Bay!" Don Geronimo claims that Spewak was the original "Danger Boy" of radio. Spewak performed many behind the scenes tasks for the Don and Mike Show, eventually becoming the official producer of the show. After a tumultuous tenure as Producer, he was asked to step down and resume duties screening calls and grabbing drop tapes for Don. After the hard-working Producer Beth Ann McBride left the Don & Mike show for her own show, Robb Spewak assumed the role again as Producer of the Don and Mike Show for a second time, settling into his current role as the Morey Amsterdam/Richard Deacon of the show. He is well-known on the show comedically for being an alleged racist and wife-beater hating Sacramento, CA, being suspicious of Canadians, and rabidly pro-American. Rob is cheap and gave away autographs from Wayne Newton for Christmas presents which were actually signed by Wayne's drummer.

Spewak is always introduced during the opening of the show with an a capella jingle that sings his name. The jingle was created by JAM Creative Productions.

Spewak is also know for his oversized head, which is the subject of occasional discussion and humor. During one call-in segment a caller asked, " Robb, because of your large head, do you have to sew an extra panel in your ball cap?" Instantly Mike O'Meara jumped to Robb's defense by saying, " No, but he has to sew an extra panel in his ball sack."

Spewak is married (Carrie) and has two children (Julia and Robert III). He is also devoted to old television, quality beer, and Elvis. While Spewak's true lineage is shrouded in mystery, several internet websites allude to his 1/8 Jewish and Cherokee heritage. He has also recently dealt with a serious case of ulcerative colitis.

On February 21, 2007 a large portion of the days show was dedicated to accusing Spewak of making his own Wikipedia article. Spewak's defense was that the page (at that time) did not mention his large microphone collection. After the show Spewak went to the Emergency Room after noticing that his left arm felt cold during and after the show. He originally thought he was having a heart attack, but after many tests and an overnight stay he called into the show February 22, 2007 from his hospital bed with the news that he possibly just had a pinched nerve in his neck (which itself was only remotely likely) and went home.^[1]

On March 5, 2007 Robb Spewak was officially demoted once again, and John Normand was named as the new official producer of The Don & Mike Show.
