Robert Blackwill

Robert Blackwill (b. 1939) is an American lobbyist and retired diplomat. Blackwill was the United States Ambassador to India (2001-2003), and United States National Security Council Deputy for Iraq (2003-2004), where he was a liaison between Paul Bremer and Condoleezza Rice.
Although officially he was said to have informed President Bush several months ahead that he "would enter the private sector when the President had won his second term," his resignation from his position on November 6, 2004 was characterized as surprising and unexpected by the Washington Post and other media. He is now president of Barbour Griffith & Rogers International, a Washington lobbying firm.
