Rock N Roll Worship Circus
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Rock 'n' Roll Worship Circus (1999-2004) was comprised of anchor members Gabriel Wilson (vocals, guitars), Chris Greely (guitars, vocals), Blurr (keys, vocals), and Zurn P. Praxair (drums), along with many rotating members and line-up changes which included Eric Lemiere (guitars, vocals), Mark Nelson (guitars), Terry Nelson (vocals), Mike Greely (bass), Aaron Lemere (keys, vocals), Josiah Sherman (keys), and Bobby Love (guitars). The band's status as church serving worship team members to touring act came in 2001 after the release of their first full-length album, entitled Big Star Logistics, was met with praise from fans and critics alike. In 2002, the band signed with Vertical Music, a subsidiary of Epic Records, and released "Welcome to the Rock 'n' Roll Worship Circus", a 60's flavored blend of congregational, humorous, and personal worship songs. The album was nominated for 4 GMA Dove Awards, and won the award for "Best Art Packaging". It peaked at #31 on Billboard's Top Contemporary Christian Albums chart.[1] In 2003, the band's contract was given to INO Records, another subsidiary of Epic Records, and the band's sophomore album titled A Beautiful Glow was released. Though met with fan and critic approval, the band was quickly dropped after lack of radio play and album sales had failed label expectations. In 2004, the band released their last recorded work titled The Listening EP, toured internationally with Delirious?, played major festivals worldwide, finding more success than before.
Some remaining members of the Worship Circus continue on in music today. Aaron Lemiere has formed Longview based band The Blackstones. Bobby Love has joined BEC Records band Telecast. Mark and Terry Nelson have formed Portland based band The Shiny Things. Zurn P. Praxair performs under the idenitities of P. The Clown, and Zwasco. Gabriel Wilson, Chris Greely, Eric Lemiere, and Josiah Sherman have formed Longview, WA based band The Listening.
