Rod Lawler (born 12 July 1971 in Liverpool) is a professional snooker player.
Last season was a disappointing one for Lawler as he failed to progress beyond the last 48 of any of the six ranking tournaments. His best event was the 888.com World Snooker Championship as he beat Alfie Burden and Dominic Dale to reach the last qualifying round. But with a place at the Crucible up for grabs, he let slip a 6-1 lead against Anthony Hamilton, losing 10-8 in a gruelling match which finished just short of 1am. Lawler reached the final of the International Open in 1996, beating Stephen Hendry 5-2 in the second round and winning six matches in all before John Higgins ended his title dream with a 9-3 victory. He claimed two notable scalps in the 1995 World Championship, defeating 1985 champion Dennis Taylor 10-5 in the final qualifying round and then shocking 1991 winner John Parrott 10-6 in the first round proper at Sheffield.
