Rogans Hill railway line, Sydney
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Rogans Hill railway line is a closed railway line in the western suburbs of Sydney, Australia.
[edit] History
The line opened between Westmead, on the Main Western line, and Castle Hill, in the Hills District in 1923. It reached its final destination of Rogans Hill in 1924. It was originally a steam tramway before conversion into a railway. It was not successful, and closed in 1932. Little trace of the line remains. A railway to the Hills District is currently (2007) being planned, but following a different alignment.
