Roland Young

Roland Young (November 11, 1887 - June 5, 1953) was a British actor.
Born in London, Young debuted in Hollywood in the 1922 silent film Sherlock Holmes, in which he played Doctor Watson opposite John Barrymore.
Between 1912 and 1941, Young appeared in twenty-one Broadway productions, including The Seagull, A Doll's House, Hedda Gabler, Beggar on Horseback, and The Last of Mrs. Cheyney.
Young had several supporting roles in his career, in such films as His Double Life, Ruggles of Red Gap, King Solomon's Mines, He Married His Wife, Ali Baba Goes to Town, And Then There Were None and The Great Lover. He probably is best known for creating the title role in the comedy film Topper and its sequels. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for Topper.
In the 1950s, Young appeared on several episodic television series, including Lux Video Theatre, Studio One, Pulitzer Prize Playhouse and The Chevrolet Tele-Theatre.
Young has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one for motion picture at 6523 Hollywood Blvd. and another for television at 6315 Hollywood Blvd.
Young was married twice, to Marjorie Krummer from 1921 until 1940, and to Patience DuCroz from 1948 until his death in New York City.
