Ron Magill

Ron Magill is a renown photographer and wildlife expert. Magill was born in New York City, New York but moved to Florida at the age of 12.[1] He went to the University of Florida where he obtained an associate's degree.[2] His first job was working at the Miami Serphentarium, which no longer exists. In 1980 he became a zookeeper and gradually became lead zookeeper, senior zoo keeper and then assistant curator.[1] Today, Magill is the communications director of the Miami MetroZoo and makes regular appearances on television shows like Good Morning America, Sábado Gigante, The Late Show With David Letterman, and The Today Show. He has also appeared on documentaries for the Discovery Channel, and, during the 1980s, handled all the animals used on the Miami Vice.[2]
In 2006 Magill received the Wildlife Ambassador Award in recognition of his efforts on wildlife preservation. Magill was also director for the Cheetah Conservation Program.
