Rose Bruford College is a prestigious British drama school, offering professional vocational training for the performing arts to BA and MA level. It was the first drama school in the United Kingdom to offer a degree in acting and it has pioneered innovative degree courses in drama training, including degrees in European and American Theatre Arts.
The college was founded in 1950 by actress, drama tutor and author Rose Bruford, herself a graduate of Central School of Speech and Drama. Local authorities gave her the exclusive use of 18th century heritage listed manor house Lamorbey House in Sidcup in the Greater London area. The college is situated here to this day, in a campus encompassing not only the manor house, but also a modern set of buildings completed in 2002. For some time, there was also a campus situated in Deptford, near Greenwich in East London.
