Dr. Roy Harrisville II was a key figure in the evolution of the Historical Critical Method of Biblical Criticism in the middle and late 20th century.
As professor of New Testament at Luther Theological Seminary, now Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN Dr. Harrisville's view on the nature of scripture and the interaction between human writers and the Holy Spirit helped to shaped the preaching and theology of Lutheran's in North America for nearly 40 years.
Dr. Harrisville's key works include The Bible in Modern Culture: Baruch Spinoza to Brevard Childs by Roy A. Harrisville and Walter Sundberg. Eerdmann's, Grand Rapids.
