In 1936 several regiments were designated (Tank) regiments during the Militia-wide reorganizations. They were still considered part of the infantry, however, hence my edit of the reference to the Windsor Regiment on 23 Feb 2006. Michael Dorosh 18:20, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RCAC vs Armour Branch

Is the personnel branch, called Armour Branch in CFAOs, identical to or merely conflated with the RCAC? I see the two are often used interchangeably, even on CF sites, but what is the official branch name? SigPig 06:23, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

The guys at army.ca might know - a post there in the Armour forum should find you an answer. I thought the official name was "armour branch" after unification but that RCAC remained in informal use and has crept back towards being official, but that is a wild assed guess.
