S-chanf is a municipality in the district of Maloja in the Swiss canton of Graubünden.
It is located in the upper Engadin valley.
Chapella and Susauna are considered part of the municipality. Neighboring villages are Cinuos-chel and Zuoz. At one point the Swiss Army had a facility near S-chanf, where it would conduct exercises in the summertime.
S-chanf is near the Val Trupchun, part of the Swiss National Park. In the park, early risers may spot marmots and, high on the mountains, Steinbok (ibex).
S-chanf has at least two hotels: the Aurora and the Scaletta.
Rheto-romanish, the fourth language of Switzerland, is spoken, as is Swiss-German.
An alternate spelling of the town is Scanfs.
