Sador is a fictional character from J. R. R. Tolkien's Unfinished Tales. He was the serving-man of Húrin of Dor-lómin. He was also a friend of Túrin Turambar. Túrin called him Labadal which translates into hopafoot in Sindarin, which is one of the languages Tolkien created. Túrin did not call him Labadal in scorn, but in pity.
Sador was a soldier under the command of an unspecified elven-king years before he met Túrin. After his war he went to work in the forest as a woodwright and accidentally cut off his foot with an axe.
When Túrin turned eight his father gave him a beautiful elvish knife for his birthday, Túrin gave Sador the knife as a gift.
"You come of a generous kin, Túrin son of Húrin. I have done nothing to equal your gift..." Pg. 84- Unfinished Tales.
Sador used the knife to carve a chair for Húrin's hall. When the chair was not half finished Húrin left for war and the wood was used for firewood to keep the family warm.
Túrin was sent to Doriath when he was nine to live with the elves when the Easterlings invaded Dor-lómin. When he came back many years later when he was a full grown man and he came to look for his mother he fought with the Easterlings and Labadal was killed.
