Saeta (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Saeta is an indie band formed in 1998 by Matt Menovcik (vocals, guitar) and Lesli Wood (piano, vocals). In 1999 Bob Smolenski (cello) joined the band and Saeta began playing live performances in Seattle.
The band takes its name from the flamenco/saeta music of Spain. Illuminated by the great Miles Davis and his album Sketches of Spain. Inspired by the description "A musical arrow piercing the heart with grief".
Saeta has released albums in 1999, 2000, 2002 and 2004. In September 2006 Saeta returns to the studio and record their next full-length album with Kramer in NYC.
