Sahlon

Sahlon is a village in the Nawanshahr district of Punjab, India, in the Doaba region. Like other residents of the Doaba region, most of the people are settled abroad. The main occupation of this village's residents is agriculture, but some people are in the transportation business.
The population of the village is approximately 1800. The majority of the people belong to the Bhatti Rajpoots, which is a sub category of the Sikh Rajpoots. The village has one government high school, and one cattle dispensary. Sahlon may be reached from nearest city center, Nawanshahr, which is 7 kilometers away. Sahlon can also be reached from Banga (11Km), and Aur (4Km).[verification needed]
In the past, Sahlon was well known for its military, providing the largest number of infantry for Nawanshahr at one time. [verification needed]
