Saint-Germain-lès-Arpajon is a commune of the Essonne département, a suburb of Paris, France.
Dependence of the châtellenie of Montlhéry with 13th. Seigniory of Granville with 16th, Noailles with 18th.

Commune of the canton of Arpajon, it is located at 30 km in the south of Paris, accessible by N20, and to 20 km in the north of Étampes. Its inhabitants are Germinoises and Germinois. It has an area of 6 km² and culminates at 82 metres.

- Corbinien founded there a religious community to the 7th century which was used as point of development with the agglomeration
- To the 13th century Saint-Germain was a dependence of the châtellenie of Montlhéry
- To the 16th century, the commune becomes seigneurery of Granville
- To the 18th century, it was Noailles which made their seigneurery
- Until 1720, the city was called Saint-Germain-lès-Châtres. It took its current name following the acquisition of the commune of Châtres by Louis de Severac, Marquis d' Arpajon-sur-Cère
