Sale Grammar School is a selective school with a specialism in the visual arts, located in Sale to the south of Manchester, England.
The school was opened in 1991 by Princess Alexandra following the merger of Sale Boy's Grammar School and Sale Girl's Grammar School. The main school occupies the site of the old girls school on Marsland Road, close to the former home of the Sale Sharks rugby team. A second site, the Claremont Centre located near Sale town centre, is predominantly used for sixth form teaching.
[edit] Admission
Admission to the school is through the 11 plus examination administered by the Local Education Authority (LEA). Trafford LEA operates a fully selective secondary education system with grammar and high schools.
[edit] Academic Standards
Sale Grammar School is widely recognised for its high standards of education and care extended towards its pupils. The most recent Ofsted report gave the school an 'Outstanding' rating; the highest achievable.[1]
