Salem was formed in late 2001 by former members of As Friends Rust, and vocalist Adam D'Zurilla. In no time, the band had managed to get themselves to tour worldwide as well as the Warped Tour before even signing to a record label or having a release. In 2003 Fiddler Records (who had also signed other Warped Tour acts) signed them to a contract. The band soon released there debut EP Love It or Leave Me. The album was well received and shows were put on. Unfortunately by the end of 2004 relations with Adam were not as stable as they needed to be, and the tour was cut short.
Fiddler Records now being defunct, the band decided to start writing the new material anyway. By April 2005, the band had written over eleven new songs with the new vocalist Will, and were eager to share them with fans on Purevolume.
By September 2005 the band had still not found a record label and were starting to feel like the music they were making was not the same as it was. They decided to call it quits on August 9th, 2005.
