[edit] Salvör Gissurardóttir
I live in Reykjavik Iceland. I teach at Iceland University of Education (currently merging with University of Iceland), my field is Educational Technology and use of computers and Internet in education.
Right now I am mostly working on Icelandic wikibooks, on a project creating learning objects for teachers and teacher education students about wikis - more specific about the interaction of wikibooks lessons, wikipedia articles and pictures/multimedia objects from the wikimedia commons. The website of my project is http://wiki.khi.is I am assigning to students to write wikibooks such as this example b:is:Glerblástur (wikibook about glass blowing)
I participated in the first Wikipedia conference Wikimania 2005, I gave a presentation about use of wikis in education, brainstorming with wikis
Abstract of my Wikimania 2005 presentation: The author suggest in this presentation how wiki can be used in on-line distance teacher education as a brainstorming tool, peer assessment activity, and a tool to develop accessment criterias for e-portfolio based learning environment.
I participated in Wikimania 2006 in Boston and gave a presentation about wikibooks and webquests.
I have been a blogger since year 2000 and keep several blogs, some of them are in English, here is my : Eduspaces blog .
[edit] User box 1 - Self Identity
This template is not just for userboxes; it is also an efficient way of creating a column of images to run along the side of an article. {{Gallery}}, by contrast, creates rows of images and is used when the images should not run alongside the text but rather should serve as a break in the text.
My favorite userboxes
Here is a text explaining what this is about. I delibarately have this text long.
