Samantha Sprackling

Samantha Marie Sprackling (born 3 June 1968, Ibadan, Nigeria), more commonly known as Saffron, was the lead singer of the dance band Republica. She also performed for two years in London's Starlight Express [1]. She has Portuguese, Chinese and English ancestry. She speaks fluent Cantonese Chinese.

Following the break up of Republica, she worked with The Cure, having previously been the featured vocalist on N-Joi's single "Anthem" in 1990, The Prodigy's "Fuel My Fire" (from their 1997 album The Fat of the Land), and Junkie XL's "Crusher", "Spirits", and "Beauty Never Fades" (from his 2004 album Radio JXL: A Broadcast From the Computer Hell Cabin). She is currently working in a new band Swarm.
