Sanarate
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sanarate is the largest city in the El Progreso department of Guatemala.
People from Sanarate are called Ayoteros (pumpkin people). The major languages spoken are Spanish, Quiche, Cakchiquel. The current population is about 15,100. There are many immigrants in this town and most of them are from Asia and other Central American countries. Sanarate is a town within El Progresso. Sanarate has been outgrown by its population but its still relaxing and still gives you enough to do. Sanarate does not have clubs or major attractions. The local hangout spot is the park which is located in the heart of the town. Kids and adults go there to hang out with friends and to meet others. Sanarate is located between Guatemala city and the major city of El Progreso, so it is convenient to go to clubs and to other attractions within the area. Due to rapid growth of population, Sanarate has had an increase of drug users and thieves. Most of the drug dealers are from surrounding areas that have relocated in Sanarate because of the amount of kids that live there. For the people that live there, it is really bad because they never had to deal with this kind of thing but for people going there to visit from bigger cities, it is not that bad.
