[edit] Academics
Sands Secondary was formerly Sands Junior Secondary with Grades 8-10. With the reconfiguration of the 4 northernmost high schools in Delta (also involving Delview, Burnsview and North Delta), Sands Secondary is now Grades 8-12 with its first Grade 12 class graduating in June 2006.
[edit] Athletics
It is home of the Sands Scorpions football team coached by veteran Ron Uyeyama and son and SFU Alumnis Jamie Uyeyama. Scorpions football is entering its third successful season in fall of 2007. The 2007 season will see the Scorpions compete at the AAA level. Sands will also be fielding a Junior Varsity team in Fall 2007. Sands was also found guilty of recruiting and messed up the whole 2006 Double A Football Season.
