The technology uses the de-licensed spectrum of 2.4 GHz. The spectrum is good enough for most Point-to-Multipoint connections and Point-to-point backhaul connections. The technology allows a cloud of Internet over an entire city by meshing access points (transmitters) providing an anytime anywhere network access.

The network can be built in a matter of days. The network is non-line-of sight (NLOS) for a distance of 0.5 Kilometers around an access point. Its Line-of-sight operation, with access points installed at highest points in the neighborhoods, can extend to typical distances of 15 + Kilometers. The access points can either be placed on tall buildings, water tanks or cellular towers available through out the city. This is to achieve better coverage through Line-of-sight operation.

Wireless Broadband with mesh Wi-fi technology is being offered in several towns around Dallas, Texas and Seattle, Washington state has overcome several disadvantages of Wi-fi hot zone model and made the metro-wide Broadband Wireless coverage a reality. The technology is providing up to 15 miles coverage (with Line of Sight to the TV tower) in a city in Louisiana state in U.S.A. City of Garland, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, Texas has built a mesh Wi-fi network for all the government and police communications by installing 6 nodes for the entire city of 15 X 18 miles. Philadelphia and Atlanta are planning to install mesh networks in covering the entire cities in the next 6 months. These two cities are in the 10 largest cities list in U.S.A, covering more than 350 sq. km each. This wireless network is competing with DSL offerings by Incumbent Local Carriers.

Fault Tolerance and High availability:

Our network is designed to be resilient to Failure of Other nodes in the network. The network is self-healing and can re-route the data traffic in the rare event of failure of any node in the original traffic path. Our network engineer’s will ensure that there is no single point of failure. The network does this by discovering the routes along which messages can be passed. The network makes sure these routes do not contain loops and tries to find the shortest route possible. The network is also able to handle changes in routes and can create new routes if there is an error.

We are also ensuring that there is no failure due to natural calamities like rain and lightning all our network nodes are protected by most powerful and latest lightning arresters, which thwarts the lightning from damaging the network nodes Advantages of our wireless technology

A customer can carry his modem/set-top-box and instantaneously connect to the broadband Internet from a different building.

Access Anytime – Anywhere: Network access is assured at all times and from all locations. No missed E-mails and increased productivity due to constant connectivity.

MOBILITY is the greatest convenience of the design. A customer can sit outdoors with his computer and get connected to high speed Internet. Link layer mobility is achieved in this technology.

No geographical limitations: A user can take a handheld or laptop computer anywhere without losing the connection in their home.

Service connection can be provided to the customers in a matter of hours. It typically takes days for DSL and cable to provide the connection.

Well I was intrigued to learn that there is a company that is providing VoIP using the SIP protocol across a WiFi mesh network.
