Sara (Persian: سارا) is a 1993 motion picture directed by Dariush Mehrjui.
The movie won the Audience Award Nantes Three Continents Festival as well as Best Actress award for Niki Karimi's role in the movie (as Sara) and Golden Seashell for Dariush Mehrjui's directorial efforts. [1]

Sara is the perfect young housewife however when husband Hessam requires an expensive emergency operation abroad, it is she who get the funds. For the next three years, it is Sara, labouring secretly to pay the shady loan and save Hessam's manly pride. Until the truth is revealed and with it, the reality of her marriage.
