Hello. I'm fairly new to Wikipedia, but try to be active and helpful. What I'm usually doing (aside from lurking):
- Making small corrections as I see fit...
- Add/correct information, usually with pages about some form of entertainment.
- Creating redirects for convenience. (usually for movies with multiple sequels and long names)
- Occasionally make new pages, usually about some form of entertainment.
Aside from being a media freak, I especially like reading pages about history, prehistory (sometimes even pre-earth!), anthropology (including closely related hominids like Neanderthals), biology, and computers/programming topics (especially Linux related).
I'm a bit of a dreamer when it comes to what I view, so the most striking pages I've visited so far are:
- Neanderthal - The possibility that they were as or more intelligent than us, and/or we may be related to them or they may have mixed with us, even though a [disclaimer]THEORY[/disclaimer], has become kind of a mini-obsession with me. That image of the Neanderthal child on that page strikes me deeply, s/he seems so amazingly human.
- Big Bang Theory - Who doesn't want to know where we came from?
- [anything here] Period/Era/Epoch - Even though Dinosaurs tend to get front billing, most anything from prehistory interests me. Maybe it's because we know so little about it.
Pages I've made:
- Blood Diamonds (TV show) - No particular reason. I was watching it on The History Channel and decided it needed a page.
- Swear filter - I don't know how this feature could exist in so many games and online services and not have a page dedicated to it. I once got bored and made a reverse swear filter for a message board I created in PHP. It turns minced oaths like "heck" and "darn" into their more fun forms. :)
