Saurophaganax maximus Chure, 1995 |
Saurophaganax ("lizard-eating master") was an allosaurid dinosaur from the Morrison Formation of Jurassic North America. Some paleontologists consider it to be a species of Allosaurus (A. maximus). Saurophaganax was a massive carnosaur, up to 12 meters (40 feet) long.
Saurophaganax is the official state fossil of Oklahoma [1].
