Save Ferris was a ska punk band formed circa 1995 in Orange County, California. The band split up in 2002; their final performance was held in Culver City, California on September 20 of that year. They were best known for their cover of Dexys Midnight Runners' '80s classic Come on Eileen, which on some sites is mis-attributed to No Doubt.

Controversy surrounded the band's 2002 break up. After the breakup Monique Powell performed with a new band under the Save Ferris moniker[citation needed]. This resulted in a lawsuit[citation needed].
After the break up of Save Ferris, members Bill Uechi, Brian Mashburn, T-Bone Willy, Eric Zamora, and José Castellaños went on to form a ska/reggae band named Starpool. [1]

- It is widely believed that the band got their name from the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off, in which the titular protagonist fakes an illness in order to be able to skip school. This leads to an impromptu advertising campaign initiated by his schoolmates under the slogan "Save Ferris," which is used as a running gag throughout the movie. When the band played in Chicago, someone allegedly had the band's name displayed on the marquee in front of legendary Wrigley Field, in reference to the movie.
- Save Ferris also made a brief cameo appearance in the 1999 teen movie 10 Things I Hate about You.
- Tara Lipinski used "The World is New" for her first program as a professional skater in the 1998 Skate TV Championships. [1] [2]
- The character David from the Meg Cabot book All-American Girl wears a Save Ferris t-shirt in the novel, this getting the attention of the novel's protagonist, Sam, who is a fan of Ska punk music and references many Ska punk bands throughout the series.
