Savior of the World
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Savior of the World is a musical dramatic production produced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was premiered on February 28, 2000 in the Conference Center Theater on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah[1] and has been presented yearly around the Easter and Christmas holidays, though the Easter performances have not occurred since 2005. The production depicts the Biblical accounts of the birth and death of Jesus Christ. Since the beginning of the production the scripting and music have been fluid due to revisions of the material, often differing from one year to the next, although the core of the production has always focused on the birth of Jesus for Act I and Jesus' resurrection for Act II. In 2006, the official script and score were released for limited LDS church-wide use and are available online.[2]
