Scarlet Rayne

Scarlet Rayne is a metal band that began in 1987. It was influential in making a positive impact to the Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois metal scene. It recorded a three song demo tape and quickly began to gain popularity. It won several "Battle of the Bands", received favorable reviews, and a dedicated following.
The power trio was first established by Daniel Johnston (guitar and vocals), Matthew Johnston (drums and vocals) and Kyle Abts (bass). After a year the line-up changed when Marvin "Crash" Vanderweele replaced Matthew on drums.
Their first recording began as a school project but turned into a underground favorite. Daniel's shredding guitar licks and solid vocals gave rise to a unique sound - being compared to bands like Queensryche, Halloween, and Iron Maiden. Their second recording, called "Theater Humanitarian", was a full-length recording which truly established Scarlet Rayne as a formidable force in metal music.
