Schlanders (German) or Silandro (Italian) is a municipality in the valley Val Venosta/Vinschgau in Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, Italy. The village of the same name is due to its size and the central situation the centre of the Val Venosta/Vinschgau.
Schlanders is well-known because of its church tower (92 meters), which is also the highest of South Tyrol. Another object of interest is the renovated Schlandersburg, which was re-designed for public purposes (including a public library). Schlanders is the only village having an Italian elementary and secondary school in the whole valley of Venosta/Vinschgau.
The locality was mentioned for the first time on 13 June 1077 in a deed of donation, where the Holy Roman Emperor Heinrich IV. handed over a landgut to Slanderes to Altwin, the Bishop of Brixen .
