OK, I've started rewriting this article, but I don't have any great experience in medical parasitology, so if anyone wants to jump in, please do. I think it's a shame that wikipedia doesn't have a good article on such an important disease. Anilocra 19:18, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- There is no need of you rewriting this article. It is only about the organism, not the disease. A very complete article on the disease is available on schistosomiasis. Rsabbatini, 28 Feb 05.

- The sharp, hook-like structure in the upper right of the picture is used for tearing through tissues. This should be mentioned in the article. Also, the egg stage picture could stand to appear on the S. mansoni page as well. Fuzzform 03:55, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
