Seattle Weekly is a freely distributed newspaper in Seattle, Washington, United States. It was founded by Darrell Oldham and David Brewster as The Weekly, and its first issue came out on March 31, 1976.

The paper is currently owned by Village Voice Media, Phoenix, which also owns the Village Voice and other alternative weekly newspapers, distributed to readers free of charge each Wednesday.

In July 2006, longtime Editor-in-Chief Knute "Skip" Berger, announced he would be leaving the paper. The Seattle Times profiled the change in leadership at the company in a Business & Technology section news report titled, "Uncertain Times at Seattle Weekly."[2]
