Segundo Alejandro Castillo (born May 15, 1982) is an Ecuadorian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Red Star Belgrade in Serbia.
He has recently broken into the Ecuador national team and has been included in their squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup due to his remarkable willingness to attack even as a defensive midfielder.
On May 24, 2006 in a friendly game against Colombia, he made a goal for his country in the second half. They later tied 1-1 in New York. His impressive display against the Colombian national team later earned him a starting lineup position for Ecuador in the World Cup, and he remains so today.
On August 31, 2006 he signed a two year deal with Serbian side Red Star Belgrade, former European Cup champions from El Nacional in Quito. He has made four goals currently, as of November 17, 2006. He has impressed many over there; in fact, he has been named as one of their most valuable summer transfer this year.
He is the natural successor of Edwin Tenorio as the next defensive midfielder.
