User talk:Sergeant Snopake
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Thank you, all of you, who have made my talk page such a pleasant place in the past few weeks. It’s overwhelming to see so much support after ‘the incident’, and I’m so grateful to all of you. It’s seeing users like you all, who shine such a bright light onto this project, that fills me with such faith, so I’d like to note that I leave not out of misery, but out of knowing that my time here has passed, and that I must move on. My gratitude to all your kindness and my love for Wikipedia is like an eternal flame; where the breeze of absence kills a little love, it fans a great one into an almighty blaze. [edit] Good luck
I'm sorry to see you go...even though it makes me relieved that you're not leaving out of misery, I wish you didn't have to leave. Ah well, I guess this is the way life operates in reality and in "Wikiality". Good luck to you and remember that you are always welcome here; thanks for being such a great editor. The one barnstar I have is from you; I shall treasure it. Thistheman 17:05, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
Oh dear, that's such a shame. Please feel free to contact me off-wiki if you ever feel like a chat. You have my best wishes with whatever life holds for you out in the real world, and you're always welcome to come back. Warmest regards, — riana_dzasta wreak havoc|damage report 17:41, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
Dear Snopake, it pains me and makes me glad at the same time: your leaving pains me, but that you are not leaving of anything serious this time makes me very happy. I know I speak for many of our friends, and they in turn will doubtless give their own words here which will go much farther than mine, but please know you are in our thoughts always. We all love you and wish you the best. —$ΡЯΙNGεrαgђ (-¢|ε|Ŀ|T|♫-) 01:05, 16 September 2006 (UTC) (And if you ever need to talk about anything, I know there are other people, but I'm open for you and your brother both if you ever need me.)
I'm very sorry to see you go. We never interacted much as far as I can remember, but I watched the latest events from the outside... A shame, really. Feel free to contact me per e-mail if you need someone to talk to, about whatever you want to. Have a good life! —Nightstallion (?) 17:54, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you for your kind words
Dear Sergeant Snopake, thank you for your kind words. I'm deeply touched that you chose to come back, if only temporarily, just so that you could welcome me. I'm also touched that you thought about me, even though I don't believe we have ever corresponded in the past. I've also wondered how you were doing, though I was hesitant to say anything on your talk page out of fears that I would be interfering. It makes me weep tears of joy to see that people care! Rest assured that we care for you too.
Regarding your departure from Wikipedia, I have a vague idea of what happened, but I'm not going to pry, and neither will I gossip about the circumstances. I'm very sorry for what happened to you. I will say that my vague idea of what had taken place is partly why I decided to disable my e-mail access on Wikipedia.
I won't lay a big guilt trip on you if you prefer not to return, though I think that you'll always be welcome to come back. If you feel that you have gained peace of mind by staying away, then that was the right choice. In any case, I hope you have a wonderful life! --Kyoko 05:08, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- I wholeheartedly agree. Good luck down the road, and enjoy life wherever you go. Don't forget to live it to its fullest, because you can never turn back, just keep walking forwards! Fredil Yupigo 00:19, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Come back soon
We all miss you, especially me. Will (Glaciers melting in the dead of night) 07:52, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- Obey the Sceptre!! Whatever you're going through, we can help!--Chili14 01:37, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
- I do have some idea what may have led to your departure, and I hope that, in a year or two, when things change, you might be able to come back to wikipedia and contribute as much to it as you have in the past. I think the cats project and others that you were involved in are much less effective in your absence. And a pleasant personality like yours is missed everywhere. Regardless, I hope that your future is as bright wherever you go as you deserve, and thanks for everything you did here. Badbilltucker 17:15, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] 2006 honors list
The Fauna Barnstar | ||
We have only recently actually created a specific award for those whose contributions deal specifically with content related to animals. This user, who has since retired, proved to be one of the Cats Project's early promoters and invaluable defenders. As many of the early members know, without the contributions of this person, the Project may have even been officially terminated. Because of this editor's great enthusiasm and work for this project, as well as all other work, including withstanding direct insults and attacks from within, I believe that this award, however belatedly bestowed, was more than earned a long time ago. Also, I have taken the liberty of bestowing upon the recipient a title more suited for someone who has undertaken and persevered in the remarkable situations which this editor endured. And, lastly, this editor is now listed as well as the Cat Project's honorary commander-in-chief, for tireless effort and withstanding truly extraordinary circumstances. I can only regret that we were not able to bestow this well-earned recognition earlier. Badbilltucker 15:12, 29 December 2006 (UTC) |
[edit] Note on Returning
Just a note to reiterate that, despite my recent edits to thank a certain very kind user and to warn a vandal, I still do not feel that I can (or am ever going to) return. Regardless, thank you so much to everyone that made my stay at Wikipedia a pleasent one - you are the sun that keeps on burning bright in every season. Good luck to you all.
